Before I became a REALTOR®, I spent 10 years in Direct Sales in the fashion industry. I had a lot of success building teams and my clientele. I was honored to earn every incentive trip and top 10 awards every year for team volume, personal volume, and recruiting.
In 2018, our world was turned upside down as my marriage of almost 18 years was destroyed and my daughters and I would no longer have relationship or support from him. I was now having to sell my home and try to figure out a way to support my kids on just my income. My sweet friend Paula Maynard not only helped me sell my home, but she was a shoulder to cry on. I went to her house for coffee one morning the following year and the conversation turned into one about me getting my license.
I had thought about becoming a Realtor several times during my marriage, but my girls were still young and I loved the flexibility I had with the Party Plan business. In 2019, Makayla was getting married in June and Isabelle was now 15. I needed to make more money and it seemed like perfect timing. I contacted a friend of mine who was also a leader in the DS business I had been in and had become a great success in Real Estate. She encouraged me to do it and I jumped right in.
Something that has driven me since Makayla was born is inspiring others, especially women. I have been through a lot of obstacles in my life and have had to overcome so much. I was looked down upon a lot in my lifetime for different circumstances. I was told that I wouldn’t amount to anything. I felt “less than”. It wasn’t until I stopped letting other people define me and started believing what God says about me, I became unstoppable. I want everyone to know that they deserve to have hopes and dreams and the support to reach make those a reality.
Selling or buying a home can be the most exciting time of your life, but it can also be a very difficult time. Maybe due to the loss of a job, a loved one, divorce, etc. One of the most rewarding home buying processes I had was with a sweet young lady who had been kicked out of her home by her boyfriend. I knew what it was like to be blindsided and feel devastated and helpless. I was able to build relationship with her and help her through the whole process. She didn’t know if she could do it. When I gave her the keys to her new home, we celebrated and wept together.
Being that I want to inspire others and make an impact on lives, I not only get to do that for people who are wanting to make their dreams come true by buying a home, but I get to help other people by leading and coaching them in their own businesses. I love what Zig Ziglar said, “You can have everything in life you want if you just help enough other people get what they want”.
I love helping people find their “happy”,
